Wow! I feel like my lifeline to the world has been gone forever! My 6 month old laptop crashed and I had to wait for a new hard drive and discs to fix the darn thing. I did manage to snag my teens laptop for a few minutes each day, but that was like pulling teeth and not really worth those few minutes on line. I must say that not moving on in Project Food Blog was a blessing in disguise since I really would have had a panic attack with my laptop out of commission.
Enough of that and onto the giveaway! I'm very excited to post
Another giveaway from my friends at Peppadew International!
http://www.peppadew.com/main/us is one of my favorite gourmet pepper lines and they have been generous enough to let me host this giveaway for 3 winners again! Please visit their site and get creative and let me know how you would try Peppadew Peppers and post a comment here on the blog. Let me just say that whether you eat them straight out of the jar, top a dish with them or make a Peppadew Pepper Hummus like I recently did, you will be hooked on them!

Peppadew Pepper Hummus |
So what exactly is Peppadew International? Peppadew is a South African company that has designed a line of gourmet products from the sweet piquanté pepper. They have found a way to balance the sweetness with the spice and keep the pepper crisp all at the same time. Here is a link that will give you more information on just what made Peppadew a top ten out of 50,000 at the NY Fancy Food Show in 2003.

I would pair it with goat cheese. maybe do a bed of greens topped with a goat cheese crouton and a red pepper paste, or red pepper creamy dressing. oh, now i'm hungry =)
ReplyDeleteI've wondered where you were. Welcome back! Looking forward to seeing your recipes again too. I'm amazed at how many people express a feeling of relief at not moving on in that contest.
ReplyDeleteMmm... in a salad for me! Greens from the market, cheese and a light vinaigrette!
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking about stuffed peppers!! These peppers look absolutely gourmet!!!
ReplyDeleteI have never worked with jarred/canned gormet peppers before. I think there are too many choices but I would have to do my research.
ReplyDeleteI won last time so am probably not eligible this time :-) However, I'll happily accept if I'm eligible and win - lol. But, I do want to say these are the BEST peppers. They're wonderful stuffed or chopped up in salads. The best use however was in Chicken Scarpariello: http://kateiscooking.blogspot.com/search/label/Chicken%20Scarpariello. Probably my favorite dish from the Food and Wine blogging. Kate
ReplyDeleteOh...this look delicious! I love peppers! They would probably be FAB in a sandwich with LOTS of veggies and some cheese. Mmmmm...I can tast them now!

hmm...maybe I'd try baking it into a cupcake or cookie. It'd be a spicy cookie!
ReplyDeleteThis w'd sound off topic but i read it in the first paragraph of this article. So it's not.
ReplyDeleteYou seem so relaxed on getting an alternative backup for your sensitive data. PCs keep crashing every second. Though you buy another hard drive, it'll fall suit. You result into losing everything. Personally I switched from rely on HD, USB, DVDs, floppy drives, etc, cuz they tend to frustrate a lot.
I now backup online at www.safecopybackup.com. I am not complaining since. If you want to try, they have 3GB free space.
I love peppadews! I first had them in South Africa, on a grilled cheese and avocado sandwich - I want to make that sandwich at home! Yum!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to use them in a pasta dish of some sort...they look delicious.
ReplyDeleteI am actually here because you won my $10 Visa giveaway...if you could drop me an email with your mailing info, I will get everything in to the sponsor. frugalantics (at)yahoo.com (dot) com
I would love to use them in a soup. I'm thinking a roasted red pepper and white bean soup with sage.
ReplyDeleteI'll have to think about this, never used them before, but they sound good! Welcome back!

I'd dice them and blend it into a cream cheese and dip breadsticks in it!
ReplyDeleteI'll play! Besides, peppadew is just fun to say. I'd do two things: One tried-and-true and the other an experiment. Tried and true = homemade, thin (as in waaaay thin)crust pizza and baked on a stone so the top melds and becomes one with the sauce and crust. The peppadews would be julienned and sauteed for a topping...or...roasted and pureed into the sauce. For the experiment I'd roast them whole then stuff them with a blend of goat cheese, nigella, pinch of sea salt and fresh flat-leaf parsley.
ReplyDeleteI had these peppers and they are FANTASTIC!
ReplyDeleteI've made ice-cream flavored with roasted red peppers before, and I bet Peppadews would be great in this sweet confectionery too!
